How can esTherapy help you..?

By listening attentively and patiently I can begin to perceive the difficulties from you, the client's, point of view and can help you to see things more clearly, possibly from a different perspective. Counselling is a way of enabling choice or change or of reducing confusion.  It does not involve me giving you advice or directing you to take a particular course of action and you never have to worry about being judged by me.

Counselling is a great way of dealing with many of life's everyday problems, from relationship issues and life choices to bereavement and depression.  I can help you to address and work through any issues you might currently be experiencing, even if I don’t have personal experience of your type of issue.

In most cases I would advise an initial course of 10 sessions which can be reviewed at any time.  Of course every client is different and a treatment programme will be discussed at the first session, known as the initial consultation.

What is Person Centred Counselling?

Taking the view that every individual has the internal resources that they need for growth, person-centred counselling aims to provide three 'core conditions' which help that growth to occur:

unconditional positive regard

Together, these three core conditions enable you to develop and grow in your own way, to strengthen and expand your own identity and to become the person that you 'really' are.

The person-centred approach views you the client as your own best authority on your own experience and it views you as being fully capable of fulfilling your own potential for growth. It recognises, however, that achieving potential requires favourable conditions and that under adverse conditions, you may well not grow and develop in the ways that you otherwise could and it is for this reasons that many people will seek counselling during their life time.
