How can esTherapy help you?


Hypnotherapy can be used to help with a range of different issues, from fears and phobias and  stress relief.  Most commonly used to aid permanent weight loss and habit breaking such as smoking cessation.

Hypnotherapy is a great way to unwind, relax and make positive and lasting changes to your current life.  A wonderful positive way of addressing and dealing with your problems, often in quite a short space of time.

Hypnotherapy normally requires a minimum of three sessions plus the initial consultation, but could be more depending on the issue being treated.  This will be discussed at our first meeting and reviewed during the course of therapy.

So how does hypnotherapy work?

Firstly, it is important to state that Hypnotherapy is not what you see on TV.  Whilst the techniques used to induce the hypnotic state are very similar, stage hypnosis is not the same as using hypnotic techniques for therapeutic purposes.

As we fall asleep our brain waves change from beta to alpha to theta to delta and as we wake up the waves change in the reverse order.  You may not realise this but during our everyday lives every one of us can drift into a hypnotic state.  Are you ever driving on a familiar route, maybe home from work and suddenly you realise are pulling up outside of your front door, with hardly any recollection of your journey home?  Being under hypnosis is just like this, your mind is in an altered state of consciousness but you are still in control.
 Whilst under hypnosis your brain will usually operate on alpha and theta waves, enabling me, your therapist to access your subconscious mind. Accessing this part of your mind is the basis of hypnotic success.

Taking you and your mind to this altered sense of consciousness is induced using a set of specific and very relaxing techniques.  Under hypnosis, your concentration is enhanced and your brain becomes more receptive to suggestion.  Once relaxed I am able to speak to and bring forward the subconscious part of your mind.  Through positive suggestions spoken by me, beneficial changes can be made to your thought patterns and behaviours, aiding you to overcome the issues and problems you have presented to me.
